Advanced Options Overview

1. Purpose of the tool

The Advanced Options tool in ScaffPlan provides users with enhanced customization and flexibility for scaffold modeling. Key functionalities include:

  • ScaffBlock Storage Location: Users can specify the default storage location for ScaffBlocks created in the model. There are two options:
  1. Model and Firm (default): ScaffBlock files are stored in both the Model folder and the Firm folder, making them available across different models.
  2. Model Only: ScaffBlock files are stored solely in the Model folder, making them specific to that model.
  • Default Sizing: Users can set default timber plank sizes for creating planks and sole boards. Two sizes are available: 38x225mm and 32x200mm.
 

2. User Interface overview.

The tool is located on the ScaffPlan Tools Toolbar.

To open the tool menu please double click on the tool.
The tool contains following features:

  Settings Tab contains project specific parameters that can be applied to control the majority of settings within the other tools at a higher level.

 Search: type keywords to find advanced options categories quicker and faster as the menu evolves with updates and more advanced options settings

Show/Hide update decimals window: this option allows you to specify whether to display the update decimal accuracy window when a scaffold system changes in the Project information tool. You can set this option to Yes (default) to display the window or No to hide it. If No is selected you have the option to push this from the Update Decimals drop-down options

Default timber sole board size: users can specify the default timber sole board size used in ScaffPlan tools. The available sizes are 38x225x450mm and 50x220x500mm.

Default timber plank size: this option allows you to set the default timber plank size for creating planks from tubes, transoms, and ledgers. The available sizes are 38x225mm and 32x200mm.

ScaffBlock storage location: users can choose to set the default storage location for ScaffBlocks created in the model. You can choose between storing them in both the Model and Firm folders (default) or only in the Model folder.

Object preview color; allows you to set the preview color of objects in ScaffPlan tools whenever the preview windows are available.

Snapping points and line visibility: users can choose to have keep always snapping point and lines visible

Release ScaffPlan license on program close: the ScaffPlan license will only be released if the user is on a floating license.  For a named license this option has no effect

To apply any of these settings, simply select the desired option from the dropdown menu and press the Apply button in the tool menu.

FUNCTIONALITY

To save a current tool setting it is required to type name of the setting into the box and click Save button. To load previously saved settings please click on the box to drop down a list of setting s available then choose a desired setting. Once the setting clicked from the drop-down it will be automatically loaded, and dialogue boxes updated to values saved under the setting. 

Opens ScaffPlan knowledge base articles on the tool usage. 

Saves values set in the dialogue boxes without closing the dialog box. ScaffPlan uses these properties the next time you create an object of this type.

Closes the tool menu without saving the properties or modifying objects.
