1. Purpose of the tool

The Gear List tool is designed to streamline the management and reporting of scaffold components. Key features include:

  • Search and Selection: Users can search for scaffold components within the list and select them from either the model or the list itself, allowing for easy identification and management of components.
  • Custom Naming: The tool allows users to define custom names for gear and yard lists by adding prefixes and postfixes to the report file name. Users can also include job numbers and scaffold system names in the report name for better organization.
  • Clipboard Functionality: Users can copy preselected scaffold components from the list to the clipboard, enabling easy pasting into other applications or documents.
  • Data Grid Overview: The gear list includes a data grid that displays essential information such as code, weight, and mark fields, making it easier to manage and review components

Settings Tab users can customise the report to include additional project numbering and generic or customised naming conventions along with overall quantification outputs or more project specific reports for zoning and onsite timscales

  • File Name: this outputs the full naming convention form all associated files in the settings
  • Prefix: The prefix in the gear list refers to a customizable text field that can be filled by the user. If provided, it will appear at the beginning of the report name and be included in the file name. This allows for flexibility in naming reports while maintaining a consistent structure for organization and easy identification.
  • Report name: User input field to create a more detailed explanation to the reader on the report output
  • Postfix: In addition to the prefix, users can also define a postfix, which will appear at the end of the report name.  If left blank, the report type name will be used as the default.
  • Include Job number: this pulls the information from the Project if specified, by including the job number, you can easily associate the report with the corresponding project information.
  • Include system: this pulls the information from the Project if specified, incorporating the scaffolding system name, you can ensure that the report is clearly associated with the relevant system
  • Report type: users can choose between a Gear List and Yard List, both serve different purposes in scaffolding management.
    1. The Gear List is primarily focused on the specific components and materials required for a particular scaffolding project. It includes details such as codes, weights, and marks for each item. It allows users to create, track, and organize the gear needed for scaffolding setups, making it easier to manage inventory and ensure all necessary
    2.  The Yard List, on the other hand, is more about the overall inventory of scaffolding materials available in the yard or storage area. It provides a broader overview of all components that can be utilized across various projects.  This list helps in managing the stock of materials, ensuring that there is sufficient inventory for upcoming projects, and facilitating the logistics of material handling.
  • Report creation method: this allows users to create an overall report of the whole model/project, alternatively break it down into individually selected items which when combined with the Phases Tool becomes a powerful tool for staged construction output
  • Display report: If set to Yes this will open the report directly in Excel, if set to No it will save it in the Project Folder in the folder named Reports and can be opened directly from there.
