Lacing and Bracing of Beams

  1. Switch to X-Ray mode and make sure the ScaffPlan Toolbar and snapping points are available.
  2. Open the Tube & Clip / Tube & Fitting Tool and set the input type to Two Items.
  3. For the horizontal lacing:
  • Select Double Couplers for both ends.
  • Pick the two beams.
  • Set the required tube length.
  • Position the tube perpendicular to the beams.
  • Use Move + Copy to duplicate the tube along the beam.
  1. Repeat the same process for the lower lacing. If the couplers are inserted upside down, use the Flip command.
  2. For cross bracing:
  • Change both ends to Swivel Couplers.
  • Pick the required beam/chord locations.
  • Set the appropriate tube length.
  • Copy and reposition the braces as required.
  1. Add the top bracing by creating tubes between the existing braces, adjusting tube lengths to suit the available spacing.
  2. Reposition individual tubes where required to remove clashes and achieve the correct arrangement.
  3. Unhide the remaining model geometry and check the completed lacing and bracing in context.
