How to Build a Non-90° Scaffold Corner in ScaffPlan for SketchUp

These workflows are useful when an automated corner does not suit the project geometry or when more control over tubes, couplers and decking is required.

This video demonstrates two methods for creating a non-perpendicular scaffold corner.

The first method uses the Bay Tool to create and position the scaffold runs, followed by the Lapping Bay Tool to automatically connect the corner with tubes, couplers and planks.

The second method provides greater manual control by using:

  • Tube and Clip Tool to connect standards with tubes and couplers
  • Item Tool to place timber or steel planks
  • Tape Measure Tool to check approximate distances
  • Move and Copy commands to position and duplicate components accurately
  • SketchUp axis locking and inference snapping to maintain the correct direction
  • Length Snapping settings to allow smoother and more precise component movement

The video also explains how to modify tube lengths, create multiple copies at regular lift intervals, position planks accurately and use arrays to speed up repetitive modelling.
